Associate Careers Adviser (Schools)

Location: Across Kent & Medway Contract: Associate (Zero Hours) Salary: £112/day Closing Date: Ongoing

Associate (zero hours) Careers Advisers who use creative approaches to support young people are required on an ongoing basis. Delivery available across Kent & Medway in secondary schools and alternative specialist provision. Must be RCDP and qualified to Level 6 or above within Careers Guidance, enthusiastic in supporting young people and flexible in approach.

Main responsibilities:

  • Deliver all or part of CXK Contracts with schools, colleges, training providers or other institutions. Take responsibility for the delivery design, implementation and review with customer contacts.
  • Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders and customers. This includes agreeing referral processes, reviewing activities and up-selling opportunities for the charity.
  • Responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people by providing individual and group IAG
  • Engage with young people to identify barriers to their progression into education, training, volunteering and ultimately employment. This will include the use of assessments where appropriate, narrative and creative approaches, enabling young people to make informed choices and identify progression routes
  • Deliver a full range of IAG activities – ranging from 1:2:1, small ‘group’ careers guidance, class size groups or large groups/presentations
