Careers Adviser

Location: Maidstone Contract: Permanent, Full-time or Part-time (min. 22.2 hours/week) Salary: £25,880 to £31,554 (pro rata) Closing Date: Ongoing

We are delighted to be recruiting an IAG qualified Careers Adviser to deliver information, advice and guidance across Maidstone, supporting individuals to maximise their potential. 

As a Careers Adviser you will be responsible for providing Careers Information, Advice and Guidance to adults on a range of opportunities including learning, career paths and employment. Primarily this role will involve working in the community but may also be required to deliver sessions virtually and also provide cover for sickness/annual leave in our prison service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clear and unbiased information, advice and guidance (IAG).
  • To provide IAG on all matters relating to learning and work, including employment, education and training
  • Achieve a range of set quantitative and qualitative targets using a case load management approach, and utilising the customer management system (CRM) effectively.
  • Identify and engage with priority customer groups to identify barriers to their progression in education, training and employment.
  • Support customers to produce a personal careers action plan which is realistic and tailored to their future plans and support needs.
