CXK is a leading charity that empowers young people and adults to build the skills and confidence they need to move into sustainable education, employment or training. Each year we make a difference to more than 70,000 people across the south-east by delivering various programmes including our Schools Careers Services and Youth Employability Services.

The ‘Steps to Success’ project is funded by the Careers and Enterprise Company through the Effective Transition Fund. The project will be over a 2 year period, supporting 105 young people who are persistently absent from school and who qualify for free school meals (FSM), entering year 10 in September 2021, leaving year 11 in July 2023.
The Project Coach will be based within the Youth Employability Service (YES), which is commissioned to CXK by ESCC. They will also be co-located with ESCC’s Careers Hub and ISEND teams. The role will support this group to access careers-related interventions and complete 6 goals each year (3 personal development to address barriers, 3 relating to post-16 progression), including undertaking a bespoke work experience placement organised by ESCC’s Work Experience team.
