Each year we make a difference to more than 70,000 people across the south-east by delivering various programmes including our Schools Careers Services and Youth Employability Services.
We are recruiting for a Skills and Employability Adviser with a specialism in supporting young people aged 15-25 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
The EHCP Adviser will be working with young people initially in Years 10 and 11 who attend special schools in the county. The adviser will work 1:1 with the student to complete a Vocational Profile and MAPP assessment and to share the relevant information with the joint agencies. The post holder will give impartial advice and guidance to the young person and their parent/guardian regarding appropriate post 16 options to help support the transition from secondary education to sustained post 16 education.
The role sits within the Youth Employability Service which has commissioned by East Sussex County Council (ESCC) since 2013. The post is also co-located within the Assessment and Planning team, which is part of ESCC’s ISEND service.
