Youth Support Adviser

Location: Eastbourne, East Sussex Contract: Permanent, Full Time Salary: £19,048 - £21,844 Closing Date: 24th January 2022

We are delighted to be recruiting a Youth Support Adviser to support delivery of the Youth Employability Service (YES) across East Sussex, supporting the YES Team Leader to ensure a high standard of service is maintained.

The Youth Support Adviser role has a central responsibility within the Youth Employability Service and is often the first point of contact into the service for young people aged 16-18 who are NEET (not in education or employment or training) or at risk of NEET.  The role requires the understanding, skills, and knowledge to support young people who find engaging in education, employment or training difficult.

The post also requires the ability to successfully engage with young people through various methods, whether this be via phone, face to face or using social media platforms. We call this ‘tracking’ and the YSA sits within a ‘tracking team’ to complete this vital work.

The YSA will be the first point of contact for young people accessing YES hubs and drop-in services and as such requires good level of customer service and communication skills. Supporting either the Eastbourne or Hastings offices, the YSA must be willing to travel cross county if required.
