Level 4 Diploma in Career Information & Advice

The OCR Level 4 Diploma in Career Information and Advice has been specifically designed for those working in the new Next Step Service, external agency and voluntary service signposting roles, and roles where staff who work in other organisations provide career advice, information, employability support and signposting as part of their own broader work role.The qualification will provide accredited professional development opportunities for those currently and newly working in these areas and encourage progression in the sector.

The qualification has a core of mandatory units and a range of optional units to allow specialisation as appropriate.

Qualification Structure

To achieve this qualification candidates must achieve a total of 45 credits made up as follows:

  • 30 credits will come from the 5 mandatory units in Group A
  • A minimum of 15 credits from the optional units in Group B

Course delivery methods

You will demonstrate your competence in the relevant units through the building of a portfolio of evidence. Evidence will include your demonstration of knowledge (through written work and/or professional discussion) and skills competency assessed by observation of practice. You will be assigned an adviser who will provide you with one to one support.

Additionally the Centre offers workshops to support development of underpinning knowledge.
