CXK Appeals for Business People to Support the Employability of Local Teens

04th June 2018

CXK is looking for business contacts to take part in Dragons Den-style events as part of its National Citizen Service (NCS) youth empowerment programme. The events will take place in Ashford, Thanet, Dover, Canterbury, Shepway, Hastings and Uckfield; and will require the participating ‘Dragons’ to provide feedback and guidance to local teens on the community projects that they will have designed ready to deliver as part of the programme.

NCS is a programme in which 16-17 year olds from all backgrounds come together for a shared experience lasting four weeks, and taking place during the summer holidays, after GCSE exams. They push themselves out of their comfort zones in the great outdoors, learn important life skills (all while living away from home), and then work together to plan and deliver a project to make a difference to their community.

As a result of NCS, young people feel more equipped to tackle social problems, become better leaders, are more confident about finding a job, and feel more positive towards other young people from different backgrounds.

More than 100,000 young people from across the country are set to take part in NCS this summer – and counting!

The Dragons Den events will take place across four dates from late July to mid-August 2018, with locations in Ashford, Folkestone, Dover, Margate and Canterbury.
