Young barber working as an apprenticeCXK is delighted to announce that it has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the Apprenticeships Support and Knowledge for Schools (ASK) Programme across the South region; the biggest region in the country and one of only four contracts.

The 3 year contract with the National Apprenticeship Service and the Department for Education will run from 1st August 2019 and will focus on assisting schools with their statutory duty to provide impartial careers advice and guidance to young people by providing them with a bespoke package of comprehensive support and information about apprenticeships.

The ASK programme supports the government objective to improve awareness of apprenticeships; driving growth in applications, supporting progression, and increasing the engagement of young people, parents and teachers.

The ASK programme has historically been targeted at Years 10, 11, 12 and 13. It provides a variety of support including access to digital broadcasts, workshops and application support. From 1st August 2019 the offer will expand to include a specially tailored programme for younger people in Years 7, 8 and 9.

Craig Garton, Director of Operations at CXK, said; “At CXK we’re dedicated to supporting individuals with information, advice and guidance that really helps them to maximise their potential and make informed decisions about their futures.

“The ASK programme is designed to give schools, colleges and other educational establishments across England free access to high quality support to develop and transform how students think about apprenticeships. We’re excited to be able to support young people across the South with comprehensive sessions that really explore and open their eyes to the multitude of possibilities that apprenticeships can bring.”
