CXK Discusses Barriers to Youth Employment with BBC Radio Kent and KMFM

Friday 30th June 2017

On Friday 30 June, CXK joined BBC Radio Kent’s breakfast show to talk through breaking research, just launched by CXK’s Talent Match youth development programme. The research examines the barriers preventing young people in Thanet from effectively accessing employment, with mental wellbeing cited as a key contributing factor.

Lead researcher, Andrew Dennis, was joined by participants of CXK’s Talent Match programme, who gave an overview of their experiences as young people struggling to find employment.

Andrew told the BBC “This research highlights the very real difficulties faced by young people in Thanet who do not have the connections, confidence in themselves or social networks that are vital to their success in finding a job.”

Andrew later joined KMFM News to explain the findings. You can listen to the interviews on BBC Radio Kent and on KMFM
