We’re delighted to announce that CXK has been shortlisted for two prestigious UK Career Development Awards (UKCDAs), recognising our ongoing commitment to transforming lives through careers guidance and support.
Our impactful careers programme delivered in prisons across Kent, Surrey, and Sussex has been shortlisted in the Careers Programme – Non-Education Settings category. This recognition reflects the success of our work supporting more than 10,000 prisoners in 2024 with careers information, advice and guidance (IAG), and our structured Work Ready employability training.
From one-to-one personalised guidance to tailored group sessions that boost confidence and job-readiness, the programme empowers participants with the tools to secure meaningful employment and avoid reoffending. With 99% satisfaction and over 90% of participants reporting increased confidence, this nomination celebrates our unique, high-impact approach to breaking the cycle of reoffending and building brighter futures.
We’re proud to announce that Skills and Employability Adviser Lizzie Vine has been shortlisted for her incredible work as part of CXK’s Youth Employability Service (YES). Lizzie supports some of East Sussex’s most vulnerable young people, including those who are electively home-educated or unable to attend school due to health reasons.
Her innovative and compassionate approach – combining drop-in sessions, tailored college tours, and a self-created careers resource pack – has helped hundreds of young people overcome significant barriers to education and employment. Lizzie’s dedication, creativity, and drive to make a difference have transformed lives and inspired her peers.
The UKCDAs are a key date in the careers sector calendar, celebrating the work of practitioners and organisations that make a lasting impact on people’s lives. The winners will be revealed at a ceremony on Tuesday 17 June at the Royal National Hotel in London.
We are honoured to be recognised alongside so many dedicated professionals and look forward to celebrating the excellence, innovation, and heart at the core of the career development sector.
