CXK Trains New Apprentice Ambassadors

20th January 2020

Young apprentice ambassadors train in TorbayCXK, as part of its delivery of the ASK (Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge) programme, delivered a series of workshops across, Cornwall, Devon and Somerset last week, to train new and existing members of its Young Apprentice Ambassador Network (YAAN).

The Young Apprentice Ambassador Network (YAAN) is a community of inspiring, driven apprentices and former apprentices who are dedicated to sharing their apprenticeship story with others. Young Apprentice Ambassadors use their own positive apprenticeship experience as a powerful tool for engaging and inspiring future apprentices. 35 apprentice ambassadors attended last week’s sessions; sessions which support Young Apprentice Ambassadors to build presentation skills and confidence. Once trained, Young Apprentice Ambassadors are able to attend ASK events and share their personal apprenticeship stories; and in doing so inform and inspire students, parents and teachers in schools across the South.

“YAAN is a community of inspiring, driven apprentices”

The sessions explored the role of the Young Apprentice Ambassador and YAAN, and included practical sessions on public speaking and presentation skills to help the ambassadors prepare for presenting opportunities. Participants left with an attendance certificate and an official Ambassador polo shirt.

Any apprentices, or former apprentices, who are interested in inspiring others across England are encouraged to join YAAN. You will become part of your regional network and receive free training and access to resources. You will also be able to use your story to make a significant difference to the lives of future apprentices. Signing up is simple and free; just visit https://amazingapprenticeships.com/yaan for further details.

The ASK programme assists schools, colleges and other educational establishments by providing free support to develop and transform how  students think about apprenticeships. Last year alone the service supported over 208,000 students across 2000+ establishments. For further information, visit our ASK page.
