Virtual Jobs Fair Returns on 20-24 July

15th July 2020

Following the success of its June event, with over 1300 job, apprenticeship and volunteering opportunities advertised and a Facebook Live ‘Employment Workshop’ which reached over 33k people, the National Careers Service Virtual Jobs Fair returns next week, promoting local job, apprenticeship and volunteering opportunities from 20 – 24 July.

To ensure people are receiving crucial careers support during Covid-19, the National Careers Service is working to bring job seekers and employers closer together by advertising vacancies across social media.

#JobsHour

The Virtual Jobs Fair will virtually visit nine different regions of England throughout the week and give employers in those regions a chance to advertise current opportunities. The National Careers Service will promote these opportunities through its national and regional social media channels.

It’s easy to find these vacancies, people can simply search for #JobsHour on Twitter or follow the National Careers Service social media channels to find vacancies in their area.

Employers are invited to help bring the Virtual Jobs Fair to life by getting involved in online discussions and encouraging job seekers to ask questions about their opportunities. They can do this by posting and commenting in the Facebook events or replying to their #JobsHour vacancies on Twitter.

Employability Skills Facebook Live Event

The National Careers Service will also provide free personalised careers information, advice and guidance for anyone wanting advice on vacancies, next steps or finding a role that is right for them.  This includes an ‘Employability Skills’ Facebook Live event on Wednesday, focusing on reviewing and building up skills with reference to available resources such as  The Skills Toolkit.

’Jobs Hour’ will run at 11am-12pm and 1pm-2pm following the timetable below. In the South East the virtual jobs fair will run from 11am-12pm on Tuesday 21st July.
