Connect to Work

Ready to work but need a bit of support to get there?

Connect to Work is a free, voluntary programme that helps people who face challenges getting into – or staying in – work. Whether you’re living with a health condition, have a disability, or have been out of work for a long time, we’re here to help you move forward.

We’ll support you for up to 12 months with personalised, one-to-one help – whether you’re currently unemployed or at risk of leaving your job.

We can help you:

• Identify your strengths and set goals
• Create a tailored action plan
• Find a job that aligns with your interests and goals
• Stay in your current role if you’re facing challenges
• Access extra support for health, housing, or care needs
• Connect with local employers
• Get ongoing help – both in and outside the workplace

Who is it for?

You can join Connect to Work if you:

• Are aged 18 or older

• Have the right to live and work in the UK

• Have settled status and access to public funds (benefits)

• Are not currently enrolled on a DWP employment programme (such as Restart or WHP)

We support people with a range of barriers to employment, including:

• People with disabilities or long-term health conditions

• Carers/ex-carers

• Care-experienced young people/care leavers

• Homeless people

• Refugees

• Young people involved in, or at risk of, serious violence

• People facing other challenges that make it harder to find or stay in work

What you’ll receive

Connect to Work is completely free and voluntary. You’ll be matched with a dedicated employment specialist who will support you to:

• Understand what matters most to you

• Build your confidence and develop your skills

• Find a job that works for you

• Stay in work for the long term
