Our Explore Early Years Education course is designed to introduce you to the early years sector, help you build essential employability skills, and support you to take the next step towards a career working with young children.
Whether you’re considering roles in nurseries, schools, childcare settings or early years support, this course will give you a practical introduction to the early years and education sector and the skills employers are looking for.
You’ll learn about the responsibilities, expectations and opportunities within early years education, while gaining confidence and preparing for employment, further training or an apprenticeship.
Explore Early Years Education is a 4-week course designed to help you understand what it’s like to work in early years settings and identify potential career paths.
During the course you will:
Learn about the early years and education sector and the range of roles available
Understand child development and how children learn
Explore the importance of safeguarding and child protection
Develop communication, teamwork and transferable skills
Learn about supporting children’s wellbeing, nutrition and development
Gain support to create or improve your CV and job applications
Prepare for interviews and employment opportunities
Take part in an industry encounter to further explore the sector
By the end of the programme, you’ll have a clearer understanding of the early years sector and the steps you can take towards a career in childcare or education support roles.
To take part in this course you must:
Be aged 19 or over
Be a Kent resident
Be a UK resident
