Are you interested in working in health and social care but not sure where to start? Our Explore Health and Social Care course is designed to introduce you to the sector, help you build essential employability skills, and support you to take the next step towards a rewarding career.
Whether you’re considering a role in care, healthcare support, mental health services, or community support, this course will give you a practical introduction to the industry and the skills employers are looking for.
You’ll learn about the values, responsibilities and opportunities within the health and social care sector, while gaining confidence and preparing for employment, further training or an apprenticeship.
Explore Health and Social Care is a 4-week course designed to help you understand what it’s like to work in the sector and identify potential career paths.
During the course you will:
Learn about the health and social care sector and the range of roles available
Understand the core values and principles of care
Explore mental health, wellbeing, and healthy living
Develop communication and teamwork skills
Learn about safeguarding and professional responsibilities
Gain support to create or improve your CV and job applications
Prepare for interviews and employment opportunities
Take part in an industry encounter to further explore the sector
By the end of the programme, you’ll have a clearer understanding of the sector and the steps you can take towards a career in health and social care.
To take part in this course you must:
Be aged 19 or over
Be a Kent resident
Be a UK resident
