Key Information

A free course that allows you to learn to repair, upgrade and reuse your unwanted smart mobile devices in order to save the environment and help digitally excluded individuals.

The course focuses on reducing E-waste in landfills by refurbishing and reusing unwanted devices, including: iPhones, iPads, Android smartphones, laptops, tablets, smartphone chargers, keyboards and mice.

The course is available to young people aged 16-24 who are not in education, employment or training, and who are based in Kent or Medway

What you will learn:

  • Assembly and disassembly of phones and tablets
  • Replacement of components including: cracked screens, accessories, smartphone camera’s and batteries.
  • Basic soldering and re-soldering techniques.
  • Repair slow charging devices

At the end of the training, candidates will be awarded one or more of the following qualifications:

  • Smartphone and tablet repair mastery level 1, 2 and 3
  • Cisco IT essential

 

What this can lead to:

  • Secure employment as a mobile device technician
  • Start your own mobile device repair business
  • Progression into further training

 

What you need to know:

Delivery method: blended learning, instructor led and hands-on workshop.
Duration: 4 Weeks.
Entry requirements: enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
Time: 10:00 to 2:00pm Monday to Thursday.
