How It Works

Upcycle Your Skills is a two-week programme designed for adults who have been unemployed for a while and are finding it hard to move forward. The programme provides a supportive space to rebuild confidence, develop practical skills, and explore new opportunities.

Upcycle begins with a one-to-one goal-setting session. You will sit down with a dedicated CXK mentor to talk about your situation, interests, and the barriers you may be facing. Together, you will create a clear plan to work towards during the programme.

You will then take part in small group sessions three days a week in Ashford. These sessions are interactive, friendly, and led by experienced CXK mentors who understand how challenging it can feel to re-enter work. Over the two weeks, you will take part in activities focused on:

• Building confidence and team working

• Identifying your strengths and transferable skills

• CV writing, job applications, and job searching

• Interview preparation and mock interviews

• Exploring local employment , training, and education opportunities

• Achieving an accredited Level 1 Award in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development

Access Job Opportunities with Suez

Participants also benefit from dedicated sessions with SUEZ, a major local employer. This includes:

• Meet-and-greet sessions with SUEZ staff

• Behind-the-scenes insight into the organisation

• The opportunity to interview for current job vacancies with SUEZ

This means you are not only building skills, you are directly opening the door to real employment opportunities.

Group Sessions
