When Victoria first heard about Princes Trust she wasn’t meeting many new people or doing very much with her life, so she saw it as a great opportunity to get out of the house and meet new people. The residential sounded like great fun and she was excited to learn new things.
Whilst on the course Victoria gained lots of confidence and really honed her people skills, something that will be really useful for her future. Victoria’s favourite part of the course was creating a CV and doing an interview because she had never done either of those things before. Victoria now feels more comfortable in interview situations and in meeting new people which is something she will need for the media course she would like to do in the future. One of Victoria’s biggest challenges was overcoming her fear of talking to and working around others as it is something that she was not used to at all.
Victoria enjoys organising and sorting things so her work placement with a vineyard where she helped with office work, was very enjoyable.
Victoria’s community project involved working with the homeless, volunteering at the foodbank as well as helping to redecorate a house and garden. She really felt that her team were able to make a real difference to the lives of these people, giving them a nicer looking space to come home to.
Being involved in the Princes Trust Programme has changed Victoria’s life, she is now a far happier person, feel ready for anything that comes her way. Victoria’s advice to anyone thinking about doing the Princes Trust Programme is just do it, it will be the best decision you ever make.
