Cost of Living Resources for Kent Residents

If you are in Kent & struggling with the cost of living, there is support available to you.

The Kent Community Foundation has been busy updating resources for organisations and individuals on its website to help with the cost of living crisis. The useful noticeboard offers tips on available training grants and bursaries, as well as disability support, support for families, and hardship awards – to name only a few. View the full list here: Cost of Living Support (kentcf.org.uk)

Social Enterprise Kent (SEK) has released the following useful document with information on the cost of living support available across East Kent.  Cost of Living Support – Social Enterprise Kent (sekgroup.org.uk)

In addition, the Government Help for Households campaign provides advice and support with:

Hardware Access Scheme

The Hardware Access Scheme has been established to supply individuals that meet the criteria with access to digital equipment (initially laptops). The COVID-19 Hardware Access Scheme will ‘gift’ the device to the intended beneficiary, with no requirements to return the device. More information on this can be found here: Hardware Access Scheme (digitalkent.uk)

Connectivity Access Scheme

The Connectivity Access Scheme has been established to supply individuals that meet the criteria with access to connectivity. This is currently with a mobile 4G Router. The way in which a beneficiary can be supplied with a device through the scheme must be by referral from a professional by completing our online form. More information on this can be found here: Connectivity Access Scheme (digitalkent.uk)

Digital Support Scheme

The Digital Support Scheme has been set up to provide informal support to individuals (18 years old or over) that would like to improve their digital skills, motivation or confidence. The way in which someone can be provided support requires a referral or self-referral to express interest. Support will be provided by a matched volunteer Digital Champion or by a member of the Digital Kent team. More information on this can be found here: Digital Support Scheme (digitalkent.uk)
