Key Information

YES is a free service which offers support and guidance to young people in the East Sussex area. Commissioned by East Sussex County Council, we work specifically with young people aged 16-18 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), or are at risk of being NEET.

Benefits

Our advisers work with young people on a 1:1 basis and offer support and guidance specific to individual needs.

We support young people to plan their next steps and help them progress further with their choices, exploring:

  • College Options
  • Other training opportunities
  • Apprenticeships
  • Work experience
  • Employment and job searching
  • Completing application forms
  • Practicing interview skills
  • Creating or updating a CV

Due to COVID-19 we currently offer appointments over online video call platforms and hope to return to in person appointments in the near future.

Who we work with

We work with many other organisations and education providers to provide the best support to every young person we work with.

Within our organisation, we also have specialist advisers who co-locate with various teams such as:

  • Youth Offending Team (YOT)
  • Through Care Team (LAC)
  • Special Educational Needs Disabilities (iSEND)
  • Assessment and Planning Team (EHCP)

This means that we can support young people who may be facing issues that are a barrier to moving forward positively with their lives. This could be due to mental health, those who may not be able to live with their family and those that may not have had a good time at school.

We also offer support to young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
